My client is looking for an experienced barrister's clerk to join their successful Personal Injury (PI) team. You may be looking for a fresh challenge, or indeed you may be considered for this role if you have extensive legal experience in the PI field, having dealt with Barrister's clerks and understand their role within the legal/court system.
You will be required to undertake extensive administration to ensure your barristers' paperwork is accurate, delivered on time and is complete. You will also liaise with solicitors and counsel to agree fees for hearings.
You will also liaise with clients to book suitable Counsel for conferences, hearings and paperwork.
In conjunction with other diary clerks, plan ahead in the diary to make sure all briefs are delivered early and potential conflicts are dealt with.
Attend marketing events to represent and promote the Chambers.
You will be highly organised, have excellent administrative skills as well as first class communication skills, including the ability to negotiate fees on behalf of your barrister. You should also have the ability to manage your own workload as well as distribute work to junior members of the team.
